Hot Cocoa

It’s officially sweater weather and what goes better with fall and winter than a warm mug of hot cocoa?! This Hot Cocoa recipe uses cacao powder which is jam-packed with antioxidants, iron, magnesium, and calcium which helps combat free radicals and supports a healthy heart and brain. Optional but highly recommended is the maca powder- this adds the most delicious malty caramel flavor!



  1. Add cashew milk to small sauce pan over medium to medium-low heat  – keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn’t boil to avoid separation
  2. Heat until warmed through and add cacao powder, coconut nectar or maple syrup, sea salt, vanilla extract, maca (if using) – whisk to combine
  3. Serve immediately topped with coconut whipped cream
